OPEN STUDIO JOS VAN RISWICK AND VINCENT BOELAARTS
In the weekend of saturday the 22nd and sunday the 24th of May 2010, Vincent
Boelaarts and Jos van Riswick will open their doors to the public. The fellow
artists have moved in to studios in the former building of 'Framy Meubelen'
in 'downtown' Nijmegen.
Jos van Riswick paints traditional still life paintings, focusing on light
and atmosphere. After having painted in a very realistic style for some years,
the artist has sought a more loose touch lately, without loosing a convincing
illusionism.

Vincent Boelaarts works in an impressionistic style, combined with strong realistic
elements. His works are often built on clear and strong gestures through expressive
shapes and areas of color. These forms, often rectangular in shape, take the
viewer along in the emotion of the work. In the past 6 months he applied this
style to the subject 'Poepende Man'.
